In the light of sunset the show explodes. It is not easy to understand this light because it has its own times, its dimensions and its colors, but above all there is no sunset light equal to another. In Rome when the weather is clear, the sunset colors the sky of an intense blue with many shades. Solitary or group clouds are colored in pink, red, orange. Other times, however, there is no blue in the sky, but the shades from yellow to red appear, passing over orange and indigo. When the clouds thicken, they leave scratches or diffusions that in some places are black and white in others. If at the end of the rain, a ray of sunshine penetrates into the clouds, the sky becomes dark and dramatic. Thanks to this intruder, there is a crazy bounce of light that enters and is no longer able to exit, creating a vivid contrast where unexpected electric flashes awaken on the old historic palaces, the marble of the fountains, of the bridges on the Tiber or those of the Colosseum. What a marvelous thing to take a picture of an isolated monument in the backdrop of these skies, or the profile of a marble angel with wings gathered that is waiting to fly off the same cape on which it has lain since it was carved thousands of years ago.
